Raul returned to Cuba
President of Cuba Raul Castro returned to the capital today at night, after a tour for Algeria , Russia and Italy , which showed great hospitality towards the island.
Raúl Castro was welcomed at Jose Marti International Airport by Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura and Interior Minister, Army Corps General Abelardo Colome Ibarra.
In the last part of the journey, the Cuban president was received in private audience by Pope Francis for 55 minutes in one of the rooms adjacent to the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall.
He also met with Prime Minister of Italy, Matteo Renzi , in the seat of the government in Rome, the Palazzo Chigi.
