Global Beauty Queen Paulina Vega responded positively to the invitation that launched the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) to travel to Havana and contribute with her presence to the peace talks between the guerrillas and the government of Juan Manuel Santos.
"I remain ready and willing to assist in any of the areas that will help further promote peace, stability and progress," Vega said in a statement released to the press. "The safety of my country and peace within our borders remains a big concern for me, my family, and all Colombians."
She was born in Barranquilla 22 years ago, also pledged to act as ambassador in promoting Colombian culture and all the opportunities that their country has to offer the world.
"That said, the main representative of Colombia's President Santos. If he and the Colombian government believe that I can be of any help, I'm ready, "Vega said in the statement.
The reaction of Miss Universe -elegida in a contest held in Miami in late January- comes days after the peace delegation FARC's invitation to visit Cuba to the progress of the negotiation process.
