The Red Sox are exploring the possibility of playing an exhibition game in Cuba this spring, ESPN reported.

At present there are no plans for a game, but it is believed that a fan of the Red Sox, as Secretary of State John Kerry, has had voice in conversations.

Though the Red Sox have interest in playing on the island, the team wants to be sure that the parts -Major League players association and both governments-are satisfied with a date that works for everyone.

According to the source, this spring would be too early for an exhibition match Red Sox.

Meanwhile, the Baltimore Orioles, who played against the national team for 15 years, also would be interested in traveling to the Island this spring, given their previous relationships and the change in US policy.
