An earthquake measuring three on the Richter scale was recorded Saturday in Cayo Santa María, northeast of Caibarién, Villa Clara, without any human or material damage caused.

It is the first perceptible 2015 earthquake in Cuba and took place at 02:50 am, according to the Network of National Seismological Service Stations. The quake struck at a depth of 15 kilometers and was felt in Yaguajay, Sancti Spiritus.

Last year, Cuba recorded at least 19 low intensity tremors, a figure higher than in 2013, when 14 were reported noticeable.
