Cubans Pedrito Martinez, Yosvany Terry, Alfredo Rodriguez and Aymee Nuviola are nominated for Grammy awards in different categories. Beyoncé and Sam Smith, with five nominations each, are favorites in edition 57 of these awards.

The Pedrito Martinez Group (Motema Music), by Pedrito Martinez and New Throned King, by Yosvany Terry are the only Cubans competing in the same section, the best Latin jazz album.

Meanwhile, Alfredo Rodriguez is nominated in the category of best arrangement, instrumental or acapella, for his work on "Guantanamera" theme of the album The Invasion Parade (Mack Avenue Records).

Finally, Aymee Nuviola is nominated in the category of Best Tropical Album for work First Class To Havana (Worldwide Entertainment).

The announcement of candidates was made last Friday by Recording Academy United States. Other artists that have great options are Iggy Azalea, Eric Church, Gordon Goodwin, Miranda Lambert, Sia, Usher and Jack White, with four each.
