An official letter from the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba indicates that on November 16, Dr. Felix Baez Sarria, located in Sierra Leone facing the epidemic of Ebola, who had already treated patients with this virus, began suffering fever of 38 and 39 degrees, with no other symptoms.
The specialist in internal medicine was immediately transferred to the Treatment Center for Ebola "Kerry Town" in the capital, designed to treat UN officials where Cubans professionals are also working.
On November 17, they performed a diagnostic test for Ebola, which was positive. Our partner is being treated by a team of British professionals with experience in treating patients who have had the disease, which maintain constant communication with our specialists Brigade.
A proposal by the World Health Organization has decided to transfer to Dr. Felix Baez Sarria to the University Hospital of Geneva in Switzerland as this is a specialist experienced center in the treatment and management of infectious cases of high transmissibility.
Experts and managers keep track the evolution of the patient, who so far is uncomplicated and hemodynamically stable.
