The 19-year Yoan Moncada, one of the top prospects who have left the island this year, called free agency in Baseball Major League. Moncada is living in Guatemala and is awaiting approval from the US Treasury Department. 

The native of Cienfuegos tentative date is November 12 for a show in front of scouts in the majors. He is expected to obtain good results because his talent has been compared to Jorge Soler and Yasiel Puig. He also surpassed Rusney Castillo on a baserunning competition in Cuba.

The talented player, who plays at shortstop and third base, shone with Cuban youth team and made his name in the U16 World Cup in Mexico three years ago.

In the National Series of Cuba, debuted at 17 years old with Cienfuegos  team and hit .277. He played two seasons in that team where played together with José Dariel Abreu and Erisbel Arruebarrena both of them with outstanding performances in the majors.

He participated in the tournament in Rotterdam in 2013 and was one of the players Cuba looked forward to the Baseball team up to World Classic IV, 2017.
