The XI Americas Cup of shooting sports being held in Guadalajara, Mexico, have among their participants a Cuban delegation that so far has won a gold medal, two silvers and two bronze. The contest will be held until Sunday October 19th and will be a qualifier for the Pan-American Games in Toronto 2015.

The best performance of the Cuban delegation on Wednesday were the third place of the female collective on gun rifle lying 25 meters and 50 meters, plus single room instead of Laina Pérez in the handgun.

The trio managed 1686 points to place behind Canada (1689) and the USA (1687). They also reached the third place by squadrons with total of 1808 units, preceded by Peru (1 822.1) and Mexico (1 820.8).

Moreover Eglys de la Cruz reached the gold medal in the specialty rifle air 10 meters. Thus became the first athlete from Cuba to guarantee a ticket to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Cuba participates in the Americas Cup with about twenty shooters, which serves them all with preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico, from November 14 to 30.
