Cubans and Mexicans will compete in karate at the gym Ramiro Chirino in Havana as part of the preparation leading to the Central American and Caribbean Sports Games-2014 Veracruz.

The Mexican team is made up of nine women and eight men, trained by Bernardo Guillen, while Cubans will be led by his counterpart Almenares Francisco García.

Both teams made a training ground to hone men and women who will make up the teams for the regional event.

In the XXII Central American and Caribbean Sports Games to be held in the Mexican city Cuba will seek to recover the lost scepter overall after missing for security reasons in Mayagüez 2010.

The last Cuban involvement dates back to Cartagena de Indias, 2006, when it totaled 285 medals, 139 gold, 86 silver and 60 bronze, followed by Mexico (276-107-82-87) and Colombia (219-72-70 -77).
