The Cuban film Pablo, directed by Camagüey-born filmmaker Yosmani Acosta, won two awards at the 2013 New York International Film Festival.

Acosta won the award in the category of best director, while actor Omar Franco took home the award as best supporting actor.  After its participation at the New York festival, the film, which was nominated in another three categories, including foreign film, best actors and original story, will be presented in other U.S. cities and France.

The soundtrack of the movie, the first one entirely shot and made in the eastern province of Camagüey in 2011, is by the island’s popular duo Buena Fe.
