Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez will perform a concert on April 12 in Costa Rica's Ricardo Saprissa Stadium, after 23 years of absence from the national scene, the organizers reported here today.

According to companies Ariel Rivas Entertainment and Evenpro, Rodriguez, composer of over 500 songs, will arrive in Costa Rica with a team of about 25 people, including eight musicians who will accompany him during the show.

The cast will include, among others, the clarinetist and flutist Niurka González, drummer Oliver Valdés and Trio Trovarroco, says a note of the newspaper La Nacion.

Referring to Silvio Rodriguez, Evenpro CEO, Andres Guanipa said by telephone that "he is more concerned with the music than with aesthetic aspects."

According to Guanipa, Rodriguez, who is founder of the Nueva Trova movement, has a lot of fans in Costa Rica, who are looking forward for this show.
