Four Cuban artists were granted gold medals in recognition of their participation at a visual arts exhibition organized by Britain and China in the context of London’s Olympics.

Painters Flora Fong, Ever Fonseca, Rigoberto Mena and Luis Enrique Camejo  were invited by the Olympic Games Arts Committee to the 2012 Chapter of the Creative Cities Collection and Olympic Fine Arts 2012 visual arts exhibition, underway in downtown London.

The exhibition, under the title The Thames and the Great Wall of China, counts on the participation of artists from different parts of the world, according to an article posted on Cubadebate website.

The articles read that the work presented by Cuban painter Flora Fong was specially welcomed by the public. The painting depicts a 120 x 170 centimeter marina.

For the artist, the exhibition paves the way for new projects in galleries and museums. Fong had already participated in a collective exhibition in London, where her work was positively welcomed by the specialized critic.

The exhibit will be open during the Olympic Games as one of the best tourist attractions as part of the cultural program of the world event.
