The Cuban filmmaker will participate as a judge in the contest which will run from July 31 to August 5. From July 31 to August 5 the Traverse City Film Festival will take place in Traverse City, Michigan, founded and directed by filmmaker Michael Moore, and where the Cuban filmmaker Ian Padrón will take part as a jury member. This is one of the largest film festivals in the Midwest, and among the most respected in the country. In the same special emphasis is given, in addition to the documentaries, foreign films, American independent and those that have been overlooked but deserve the attention of an audience eager to see good movies.
The festival also presents classic movies free of charge on a giant outdoor screen overlooking Grand Traverse Bay in the Open Space Park in the evening. At the same time, panel discussions are held with directors, writers, actors and other members of the film industry. Throughout the festival a film school is also developed, which offers twice daily classes for students and film buffs. Source: Juventud Rebelde
