The popular Cuban band Pupy y los que Son Son put Canadians to dance salsa and timba at the first of several shows in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto.

The band, directed by outstanding Cuban musician César Pedroso, showed its virtuosity at the Italian Football Club in Saint Anthony, a populous neighborhood where the audience, mostly Latin American, had fun with its classic tunes.

The performance also included former Van Van orchestra singer, Mayito Rivera, and former Bamboleo member, renowned singer Tania Pantoja, who received a standing ovation.

The concert was attended by Cuban Consul in Ottawa, Jorge Montes, the press and cultural attaché, Kenia Ador, and other members of the Cuban diplomatic team.

The musicians will continue their Canadian tour at La Maison Roumaine in Montreal and delight Cuban music fans at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto.
