The Cuban fans today said good bye to former world champion boxing Douglas Rodriguez, who died in Havana yesterday at 61 due to a cardiac arrest.

According to the Cuban Sports Institute, the exboxer, gold medal in the 51 kg division in Havana-1974, died at his home in Havana.

In addition to this crown, won despite an injury, Rodriguez won bronze medal at the Munich Olympics-1972.

Stood out among the 12-string of the ring for his aggressive style, as he liked to take the lead in each round, so he gained the favor of the people.

 Beside the medalsalready mentioned we have to add those obtained at the Pan American Games in Cali-1971, the Central American tournament title in Havana-1970 and silver at Mexico-1973, also in the 51 kg category.
