A group of 28 Cuban boat people arrived on the island Cayman Brac asking for help because the boat they were traveling broke down and fell short of fuel.

The Miami newspaper "El Nuevo Herald" reported that the Cubans were detained by the immigration service they are going to be transferred to the main island Grand Cayman. The Cuban group is composed of 27 men and a woman, they didn't give the names of these persons. The report reveals that the rafters sought leave from Grand Cayman to Honduras to continue their journey to the United States.

Many Cubans are leaving the island, Cuba's situation is becoming increasingly bad and the number of Cubans who emigrate increases every day. Every day there are news of Cuban rafters intercepted at sea and held in a country in Central America.
