According to statements by Cuban officials, 70% of the income you receive are due to Cuba exports health services, tourism and other areas such as IT.
The first deputy minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Antonio Carricarte, explained that in these sectors there are many potential still untapped, it is necessary to diversify products, markets and quality offers.

He said the country has in place 16 renewal guidelines related to foreign trade, which were approved at the Sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, held last year with emphasis on the update of its economic model.

He said that the strategy is to consolidate the exportable items today more weigh on revenue and incorporate screeds from the results of branches such as biotechnology, genetic engineering and science and technology in general.

In this regard mentioned the drugs decisive in the battle against cancer and diabetes and recombinant vaccines, that despite strong competition from developed countries, are present in over 70 countries.

Carricarte emphasized the possibilities of enhancing the sale abroad of products for vector control, which now exceed $ 40 million with prospects exceed 100 million over the next five years, depending on the investments that are running.

Referring to the traditional lines in Cuban exports: sugar, rum, nickel, snuff, citrus, honey, seafood meant for all programs are available for higher position in international trade, after having suffered significant reductions.
