Great work in the center of the island in the rescue of fruit species in danger of extinction

In February last he was awarded the highest distinction of Urban Agriculture in Cuba Emilio Chavez, who has done an excellent job in rescuing and planting of fruit trees in danger of extinction in different provinces in the center of the island.
The Triple Crown of National Excellence was awarded to the farmer, member of the credit union and Antonio Dumenigo services in Placetas, because it holds 131 species of fruit which has in the past two years, over 140 thousand 500 positions.
His work allowed systematic, in that period, increasing forest areas of Villa Clara, Cienfuegos and Ciego de Avila with quality positions.
This action influenced the increase in boscosidad and the rescue of varieties almost disappeared as anon, caimitillo, guava and cherimoya, said in a recent visit to the cooperative Nodals Adolfo Rodriguez, head of the National Urban Agriculture Group and Suburban.

The mamey, in all its varieties, has a span of nearly two decades to start their reproductive life, the grafted plants achieved the first harvest in three years, said Emilio Chavez.
In Villa Clara this member of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) distinguishes the creation of a methodology to teach the agricultural fields in the circles of interest of different educational levels.
The method is widespread in the 13 municipalities of the province, with satisfactory results, which is demonstrated by the increase of students determined to continue their studies in these disciplines, said the farmer.
