Activity 8 and 9 March, held at Havana, III Workshop on Quality of Life, Pain, Pain and Rehabilitation Children that was attended by Cuban and foreign specialists.

The forum was dedicated to discussion and preparation of projects in the field and strategies to meet the needs identified on the proper diagnosis and management of pain in infants and to improve their quality of life.

Jose Juan Ortiz, representative in Cuba of the United Nations Fund for Children (UNICEF), gave a presentation on Thursday about the child's recognition as a person with full rights, regardless of their age as under 18.

Dr. Emigdio Leon, a member of the organizing committee announced that the UNICEF official also abounded about the interests of the child that gives priority to their welfare, thus the elimination of unnecessary pain and suffering in the field of Medical Sciences.

Through discussions identified the training needs of professionals in order to offer courses, training and workshops, teachers and graduates, that future taxable to the claim of an MA in Children's Pain at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, he said.

Leon said that the event addressed the pain from a multidisciplinary approach because it is a complex social and psychobiological activity shaped by the personality and culture.

It also seeks an approach to the subject from the interaction with the community and with groups of experts who analyzed the presence of pain in educational settings, welfare and research Cuban said.
