So far the National Series has brought surprises with the emergence of teams with little tradition of victors and yet to see the final performance to qualify for the playoffs.

In the western section, Matanzas, Cienfuegos Industrial and seem to have a path in their move to the next phase, but must keep it in the 12 subsets with positive balance remaining, as Pinar del Río, Sancti Spiritus and beset by the Metropolitan fourth quota.

Without doubt, the troops of Victor Lazaro Vargas and Mesa have been the best in the West, based on a very even level in the three departments of the game and the hallmark of those who were stars as players and now bear the greatest responsibility.

A semifinal between these casts are excellent paints.

In the eastern section, if we let ourselves be carried away by what happened so far, Villa Clara, Las Tunas, Santiago de Cuba and Ciego de Avila, would qualify for the postseason virtual Cuban baseball. However, unlike the western section, here there are ample chances that the minimum slip, Granma and Guantanamo slip through to the playoffs.

The most striking remains the pitching Villa Clara, the rebound pear with Yosvani Alarcón as a guide indisputable and the stability of Santiago, without thereby discrediting the good work of the Ciego de Avila runners who have had too many injuries.

Impossible to mention the extraordinary step of Alfredo Despaigne, who could introduce a new brand for our national series homer.

We will see in store for us the last third.
