For the upcoming Eighth International Congress on Higher Education 2012 Matanzas University sent 15 scientific papers of which three have been awarded the Prix

Such recognition, which granted the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) in the territory, it is for specialists of the Pedagogical University and the Hospital Juan Marinello Mario Muñoz Monroy Military.

An educational multimedia system for training in surgery video-laparoscopic cholecystectomy, Dr. Gilberto Galloso Cueto, a physician at a military hospital in Matanzas, also won the award the distinction of greatest scientific impact in 2011.

The literary education of students at the universities of pedagogical sciences, by Dr. Barbara Fierro, a professor at the Universidad Juan Marinello, will be addressed also in the international event to be held in Havana from 13 to 17 February.

Maria Artola, Science and Technology Advisor at the University Camilo Cienfuegos, told AIN that among the most important of the papers include medical education, food security and use of technology in higher education.

Artola stressed the importance of the biennial conference for the development of quality and accreditation processes in Cuban schools.

Vizcon Roberto Toledo, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies at the house of higher learning in this country, praised the role of the event to promote teacher preparation from the municipal and provincial offices, to collecting best practices in education.

The appointment is important to discuss about what is expected of each university in Cuba, and its management to foster the excellence, and allows the exchange with foreign educators said Vizcon.

The International Congress on Higher Education 2012 University, held since 1998, this time to meet delegates from some 60 nations, among which Adolfo Perez Esquivel, Nobel Peace Prize, Prensa Latina said.
