The National Center for Agricultural Safety (census) of Mayabeque opened a new laboratory called Micolab, intended for the diagnosis of mycoplasmas. This new facility provides the biopharmaceutical industry with more quality work.

San Jose de las Lajas, November 10. A new laboratory for the diagnosis of mycoplasma, known as Micolab, became operational at the National Center for Agricultural Health (census) of Mayabeque, which guarantees quality in the biopharmaceutical industry.

That facility, which was declared a national reference, detects bacteria in animals and allows for the accreditation of public health products and veterinary medicine.

The PhD in Rivero Evelyn Wolf, deputy chief of the Census and the Laboratory, said that such equipment can detect and remove mycoplasmas and meet strict standards set by the World Health Organization.

He noted that the technology could only be found in developed countries, which is successful introduction in Cuba, in order to achieve the validation of different items in the biopharmaceutical industry.
