By: Osmany González Tocabens. Bogotá, Sep 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban women's team is ready to face its counterpart of Brazil in semifinals of the Basketball Olympic Qualifying Tournament, held in the city of Neiva, while having a recess on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Cuban women defeated Chileans 62-42 in the competition group A, while totaling seven points to qualify for semifinals.

On Tuesday, the Cuban team was the group A runner-up after suffering an unexpected defeat by Argentina, so it will face the favorite Brazilian team, placed first in group B, with a total of four victories and eight points.

Brazilians already defeated Cubans in three preparation games before the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Argentina will face Canada in the other semifinal round, and winners of the two rounds will go to the finals on Saturday while seeking the only qualifying slot for the 2012 Olympic Games of London.
