Chancellor Bruno Rodríguez Meets with His Syrian Peer in New York

HAVANA, Cuba.-  Both foreign ministers are in New York for the 66th session of the UN General Assembly.The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, recently held a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Walid Moallen, in New York, in which both officials coincided in their interest of strengthening bilateral bonds.

Rodriguez told Walid Moallen all agreements signed between both countries during the historical visit of President Bashar al-Assad to Cuba last year have been fulfilled, the Official News Agency of Syrian and the national newspapers in Arab language Tishreen, Al Baas and Al-Thawra reported.

A press release on the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s website www.cubaminrex.cu says Rodriguez took advantage of the meeting to reaffirm Cuba’s full support of Syria against any type of foreign intervention on its internal affairs.

Present in the encounter were the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Arab nation, Faissal Mekkadad; Syrian UN representative Bashar Ja'afari; and the accompanying delegation.(ACN)
