HAVANA, Cuba.- In his first official activity after his arrival in Cuba on Tuesday afternoon, the First Vice President of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Reza Rahimi, paid tribute on Wednesday morning to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti at Havana’s Revolution Square.

Accompanied by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Marcos Acosta Rodriguez, Reza Rahimi placed a floral wreath before the Jose Marti monument. Later, he visited the Jose Marti Memorial, also in the Revolution Square, where he learned details on the life and work of the Cuban independence hero.

The distinguished visitor is scheduled to meet on Wednesday with his Cuban counterpart, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura.

As part of his program, he will visit places of scientific interest in Havana.

Reza Rahimi and his accompanying delegation will participate in the 15th Session of the Cuba-Iran Intergovernmental Commission, scheduled for Thursday in Havana.(ACN)
