2011.08.17 - 14:40:00 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu.HAVANA, CUBA.-   The Pan-American and World Health Organizations (PAHO and WHO) to Cuba, convene a drawing contest for high school children to promote knowledge on gender and health. 

A specialist from the Center on Information and Knowledge Management, explained ACN that the drawings, on the occasion of the Latin American Medicine Day (December 3) will be assessed in terms of creativity and originality, in relation to the subject and the message. 

The slogan of the contest is “Gender and Health”. The call states that Gender deals with roles, relationships, responsibilities, values, attitudes, and power of men and women in society. 

The contest will award only one first, second and third places, and a special recognition in each category. The drawings awarded will be exhibited in a mural outside PAHO/ WHO venue and will be published in the website of that international organization.

The drawings can be sent to or delivered in person in the office of that institution, located in 4th Street, No. 407, between 17 th and 19th, in Vedado. The awarding ceremony will take place on December 2. 

Each piece should be sent in format 8½” x 11” sheets and deadline is November 2. They should include name and last name, age, school (name and address) and phone number of the contestants. 

The jury will be made up of PAHO/WHO officials, as well as members from the National Center on Health Education and Promotion. (ACN)
