By: Jennifer Socorro Ramon. 10:39Guatemala City, Jul 11 (Prensa Latina) Dozens of artists participated in a tribute on Sunday to Argentine singer-songwriter Facundo Cabral, who was murdered here on Saturday.

It was not a traditional concert and the public could not remain silent, because of the anger, fury, indignation and so many spontaneous feelings during the performances, which condemned the absurd crime.

Phrases like "That's enough," "We can't take it anymore" and "Justice" were shouted out during the concert or seen on placards.

Tears could be seen on almost every face, as those present remembered the maestro, and felt helpless to avenge his death.

Cabral, 74, was shot to death on Saturday when the car in which he was traveling was ambushed and fired on more than 30 times, injuring his road manager and a Nicaraguan concert promoter, according to authorities, who continued their investigation.

At the tribute, troubadours, professionals and amateurs, sang songs by the late artist, reflecting his ideas and actions for peace and the dispossessed.

Hundreds of people of all ages participated in a procession from a fire station to Parque Central.

Politicians from diverse groups, students, social activists, governmental officials, housewives, and street vendors chanted slogans as they walked, demanding an end to the violence in this country.
