By: Estela McCollin. Basseterre, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) The Caribbean Community wraps today its 32nd Summit following intense dialogues to reinforce the block effectiveness. All 15 members, associates and guests exchanged views on the progress in cooperation, integration, security, health, and the infant population, among other, and will map strategies to help improve general living standards.

Majority support on the agenda went to relief supplies to Haiti and St. Lucia, both dealing with aftermaths of the Jan. 2011 massive earthquake and Hurricane Thomas last October, and restructuring the block's Secretary to bring some fresh air into the project born with the Treaty of Chaguaramas (Trinidad and Tobago, 1973).

Special attention was devoted to foster trade and free traffic of people, work force and services, helping reinforce the historic relations in the area, in line with the founding document.

On the other hand, child abuse and food overpricing drew plenty of attention and led to urge to rid both phenomena to secure a prosperous future.

Despite skepticism in the progress of the integration process, the Summit acknowledged advances in coordinating commerce, justice and health care, despite its members' asymmetry for most of them cope with public finance crisis and the unprecedented global economic collapse.

Those are the challenges ahead along old-standing goals like completing a Health Agency with the power to meet the sanitary needs of each and every Caribbean.
