2011.06.22 - 13:04:41 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu. Hugo Chavez Approves Budget for Construction of Public Schools in VenezuelaHAVANA, CUBA.-  President Hugo Chavez approved on Tuesday a budget of 647 million bolivares to invest in the renovation and construction of public schools in Venezuela.

A note published on Wednesday by the Cuban newspaper Granma reads that the works will be carried out in the 2011-2012 period, as announced by the Venezuelan Minister of Communication, Andres Izarra.

The directive, signed by President Chavez, highlights the efforts made by the Venezuelan Government in the renovation, expansion and construction of educational centers, whose number will now increase to 11,569 under the coordination of the Venezuelan Ministry of the People’s Power for Education.

Izarra added that President Chavez also issued a communiqué expressing his regret for the death of Venezuela’s General Comptroller Clodosbaldo Russian, who died while he was hospitalized in Havana.

Hugo Chavez is recovering in Cuba after he underwent surgery last week in Havana to remove a pelvic abscess at the end of a tour around several Latin American countries.
