Photo: Marcelino Vázquez Hernández./AIN Havana, Cuba, Jun 3.- With the inauguration of a Casa del Habano store in Funchal, the capital city of Portugal's autonomous Island of Madeira, the commercialization of Cuban cigars continues to expand.

The opening of the store, located in the heart of the city known as the “Pearl of the Atlantic” was presided over by Cuban ambassador Eduardo Gonzalez Lerner and the owner of the place Gabriel Nogueira de Matos, says a report on www.cubaminrex.cu

During the opening reception, the Cuban diplomat extolled the Nogueira de Matos’ friendship bonds with Cuba over the last 10 years and noted the beauty of the new Casa del Habano which he described as an “extension of the Cuban embassy.”

In addition to selling the Cuban coveted cigars, the Casa del Habano offers other Cuban products and maintains temporary exhibitions of artists from the island.

Early May, more than one hundred cigar lovers in Portugal participated in the Habanos Day, an event organized by Habanos S.A. together with the Cuban embassy in Lisbon and hosted by Quinta Casal dos Paulos.(ACN)
