11 de mayo de 2011, 22:26Merida, Mexico, May 11 (Prensa Latina) Cuban and Mexican lawmakers will meet from Thursday in this city to talk about climate change and natural disasters in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, and the reestablishment of bilateral economic ties.

Delegations of the Cuban National Assembly of People's Power and the Mexican Senate and Chamber of Deputies will attend the three-day interparliamentary meeting.

According to sources of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, the delegations will be headed by the President of the Cuban Parliament Ricardo Alarcon, and the member of the parliament for Yucatan Jorge Carlos Ramírez, also President of the Chamber of Deputies.

The Secretary of the governing board of the Senate will also attend; both belong to the "Partido Revolucionario Institucional" (PRI), the main opposition force in the country.

Mexican parliamentary sources said the meeting will allow for concrete actions to be taken to promote solidarity and cooperation between both nations in the legislative field.
