Germany’s Lower Saxony Interested in Agricultural Cooperation with CubaGert Lindemann, Minister of Agriculture, Food, Consumers’ Protection and Regional Development of Lower Saxony, the second largest German federal state, met on Tuesday with the Cuban ambassador to Berlin, Raul Becerra.

According to a note from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), Lower Saxony —Germany’s most developed state in the agricultural sector — has reiterated its interest in participating, along with the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in projects of cooperation with the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture.

In Lower Saxony, there is also Bela-Pharm, one of the most significant product suppliers in the veterinary medical industry that is represented in Cuba.

Accompanied by Roberto Infante, Commercial and Economic Counselor of the Cuban embassy in Berlin, Becerra also met with Jörg Bode, Minister of Economy, Labor and Transportation, and Vice First Minister-President of Lower Saxony.

Both meetings took place in the protocol halls of the Hannover Fair, one of the world’s biggest industrial fairs, which the Cuban diplomat was invited to tour after the meetings.
