Jacob Zuma Met with Cuban Leader in South Africa

By PL — last modified Dec 18, 2010 08:35 AM. The South African president, Jacob Zuma, received on Friday in this capital the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Jorge Risquet,who will participate in the 17th World Festival of Youth and Students.

Since 13 December, some 15,000 delegates from more than 140 countries are participating in the festival, whose motto is " Let's defeat imperialism, for a world of peace, solidarity and social transformation."

During the meeting with Zuma, Risquet gave him the English-language book Conflicting Missions, by writer Piero Gleijeses, sent by Cuban President Raul Castro.

This book provides a summary of the assistance provided by Cuba to the African peoples in their struggle against colonialism and apartheid, and for territorial integrity.

Cuba's ambassador in Pretoria, Angel Villa, also participated in the meeting
