Government sets ambitious goal for tourism

Setting ambitious goals for 2011, the government hopes tourism will be the engine to drag the Cuban economy out of its slump.
In a speech before the Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular, Economy Minister Marino Murillo said he expected tourism revenues to grow a hefty 29.5 percent. Visitor numbers are expected to grow 10 percent to 2.7 million.
