The Cuban postal service will not mail any letter or package addressed to the United States weighing more than 453 grams (16 oz.), the daily Granma announced Thursday.

The postal authorities are honoring a decision by the U.S. Postal Service to reject such packages until Dec. 8 for fear of terrorism. Only envelopes containing no objects will be accepted by Cuban post offices.
