HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 24 (acn) Cuban ambassador to Thailand offered abundant information about business opportunities in the island to more than 300 businesspeople and investors attending a trade forum in Bangkok.

During the First Southeast Asia-Latin America Business Forum ambassador Lazaro Herrera Martinez made reference to the main sectors opened to foreign investments in the island such as tourism, oil and mining exploration, renewable energy and packaging industry, Cuban diplomatic sources reported.

Herrera Martinez presented the island’s potential for the commercialization of medicines, products and services related with education, health and sports, among other sectors.

The Forum, the first one of its type held in the region, is expected to take place annually with the purpose of exploring opportunities for business and investment between participating nations. It was organized by the SEA-LAC Business Promotion Center of the University of the Chamber of Commerce of Thailand with the support of all seven Latin American embassies in the country.

In a tour of the exhibition area, Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, who inaugurated the event, visited the Cuban stand and talked briefly with ambassador Herrera Martinez about the Cuban offers.
