Cuban Leuris Pupo on the search for Olympic qualification

2010.11.23 - 13:06:40 / [email protected] / Nolan Chacón Laza.Havana, Cuban Leuris Pupo is now seeking his qualification for London 2012 Olympic Games in the 25 meter rapid fire pistol,during the Pan American Championship of the Americas, with a Rio de Janeiro venue.

According to the report made by Raúl Rodríguez, Pupo leads the first position after qualifying on Monday with 287 points, thus going ahead to the North American Miles Miles and Brazilian Emerson Duarte.

In rapid fire modality, the contest will give only one classification for the Olympics. Cuba already has one gold medal won by Eglys Cruz in 10 meters air rifle, thus turning herself into the first Cuban athlete qualifying for the London event.

Also seeking qualification for London-2012, there is Juan Miguel Rodriguez, who will compete during Thursday and Friday in skeet modality.
