By Redacción Cubasi. TROCADERO 162, BAJOS is the title of the documentary that Tomas Piard begins filming on great Cuban writer José Lezama Lima, whose centennial is this year.

According to the filmmaker's own words, the film will reflect the last stages of Lezama’s life and his posthumous novel "Oppiano Licario”. The action occurs in the house, in Havana, where he lived from 1929 until his death in 1976 and is now a museum, where Lezama shut himself up at the end of his life.

Although this is a documentary, the film will feature a cast made up of Fernando Hechavarria, Carlos Solar, Sergio Buitrago, Mariam Curbelo and Sergio Fernández. Writer and essayist Reynaldo González and poet José Moreno del Toro are also involved.

The working team will consist of recent graduates of the ISA Faculty of Medias and Audiovisual (FAMCA) like Yoanis Rodriguez, in the production direction, Vladimir Barberán, in the direction of photography, and Dafne Guisado, in the sound design, among others. Personal with more experience will also participate; namely, Daniel Diez Jr. in editing, Juan Piñera in music and Esther García Marino, executive production. FAMCA students in their fifth year will also participate in the film.

This documentary is another tribute of Piard to the author of "Paradiso”. A few years ago he released the feature film "El Viajero Inmóvil", which was a controversial but rewarding approach to the major work of the Cuban writer.
