Puerto Rico will only be a stopover on the journey of the Cuban baseball team, a place where they will go to seek their ticket for much bigger competitions. A port where they will replenish - of self-esteem and desires - with the intention of recovering some of the crowns lost and ratify another.
 
That is my opinion and though I must admit it might be mistaken, the best thing for Eduardo Martin’s team is to repeat in Puerto Rican lands the same formula they used against Nicaragua: Everyone must play, movement in the pitching roster without overloading the arms of star pitchers or the openers, enjoy the match, in the end, baseball is just a game and players cannot attend all championships with the extra pressure of being forced to win them.
 
In San Juan, Carolina, Ponce, and Mayaguez only six vacancies will be granted for the World Championship of 2011 seven for the Pan-American Games of Guadalajara. Only attending this competition the Cuban team has its ticket assured. Of course, the opponents should never be underestimated.
 
Puerto Rican fans will want to watch the full force of the Cuban offensive and it’s not about letting them waiting or letting them down, but of doing the right game, the most convenient actions, with the minds set always on what lays ahead: an extensive and exhausting national championship and then a couple of first-level tournaments.
