The concerts will take place on October 13 in the city of Kingston and on October 18, in Toronto.

Varela was invited by the School of National Studies of the University of Queens, in Kingston, and, according to the official webpage of the artists (www.carlosvarela.com), the concert in this city will be acoustic.

He will also participate with students of this university and journalists in a seminar on his work.

For several years now, the School of History and Social Studies of this prestigious higher education center has been carrying out systematic studies on the different stages of the Cuban society illustrated through the poetic and musical work of Carlos Varela, who is regarded as one of the most popular and controversial Cuban authors.

His songs combine traditional Cuban rhythms with international folk, rock and pop music.
