HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 6 (acn) Vietnam’s ambassador to Cuba, Vu Chi Cong, said in Havana his country is willing to intensify collaboration actions with the island particularly in rice production.
    
In statements posted by Granma newspaper, the diplomat said his country will continue to provide seeds, technologies and advise to help Cuba reduce rice imports and become self-sufficient in production of the cereal.

The ambassador noted that the Vietnamese people are very fond of the Cuban people and their historical leader Fidel Castro.

Cuba and Vietnam will mark 50 years of diplomatic relations on December 2. Regarding such bonds.

This month Vietnam is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its independence which gave way to building socialism and enabled social and economic progress.

The Asian nation is the second world rice exporter selling five million tons a year.

Cuba has benefit from Vietnam’s experience in the cultivation of the cereal through collaboration programs implemented in rice-growing provinces.
