Two Bob Dylan stories from La Habana, both related to Mariachi-type musicians in restaurants. First, at a little seafood place, there was a quartet of wonderful musicians playing traditional Cuban music (including ones these groups play for tourists: "Perhaps" and "Besame Mucho").

There was this American Mariachi singer who was singing with them, and he came over to us and chatted. He suggested we go to the local famous ice cream place (Coppelia). He said that Bob Dylan said that it had the best ice cream and the worst spoons. (We went and he was right.)

Then, our last night, we were serenaded by these two wonderful guitarists at a restaurant. They played traditional Cuban songs for us (including one that we can't get out of our heads), and then the second to last song they played was, "Blowin' in the Wind." Oh, and on a Beatles note, I think there's a park there named after John Lennon.

Bob Dylan did mention ice cream on his Theme Time Radio Hour program, when sharing his holiday recipe for Figgy Pudding:

"Earlier in the show, I told you to go get a pencil. Well, you’re all going to use it now. I got a lot of letters about this. Here's my recipe for Figgy Pudding. I like it served with heated golden syrup topping, and a generous pour of custard – makes me hungry just talking about it. My engineer Tex Carbone likes vanilla ice cream on it; I don't understand that at all."

On the "Summer" episode of Theme Time Radio Hour, Dylan played a 1953 recording of "Ice Cream Man" by John Brim, featuring Little Walter on harmonica.  It was included on the compilation CD, The Best Of Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour (In Association with Isis):

Bob Dylan: "Here's John Brim, he's gonna cool ya off. He usually comes by at night, with a cool, creamy complexion. He's got ice cream sandwiches and dixie cups. Popsicles and push-ups too."
