Famous Cuban musicians  X Alfonso and Osamu along with salsa singer Pedrito Calvo will first perform in the city of San Francisco, California, on August 21 and 22.

The news, released by the San Francisco-based Yerba Buena Arts Center Center,  highlights the show will be an excellent opportunity so that the North Americans have the possibility to update their view about the music that is made on the island today.

X Alfonso, representative of the alternative music made in Cuba, is currently one of the most successful, talented and innovative young artists who manage to fuse hip hop, rock and visual arts.

With his works he won several awards in Cuba and Spain, and was nominated to the Latin Grammy for his tribute to Cuban singer and composer Benny More. He also composed the soundtracks of Cuban and Spanish films.

Osamu, guitarist, singer, composer and producer, is one of the founding members of Cuba’s famous rock band “Havana”; the first group to win a Cubadisco Prize in the rock category.   

Son of outstanding musician Pablo Menendez, director of Mezcla group, and grandson of blues singer Barbara Dane, Osamu created his own band with which he launched his last three discs under the title of "rock con sabor" (rock with flavor), which describes his very own sound perfectly.

This great concert will also see the performance of legendary and experienced salsa singer Pedrito Calvo, the leading voice for many years of Van Van orchestra, who first joins these young Cuban music stars.
