The Cuban dance company Yoruba Andabo performed with a full theater and with total acceptance in Belo Horizonte, the capital of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, informed the organizers of the tour.

Promoted by Rosendo Díaz, in alliance with the José Martí Cultural Association from Minas Gerais and the RPD Consultant Group, the group directed by Geovani del Pino made those present last night in the concert in the Joao Ceschiatti Theater from the Art Palace from Belo Horizonte dance.

The heterogeneous stalls of the biggest cultural space in that Brazilian state appreciated the show Rumba Viva en Havana, with a repertoire of selected pieces such El Congo, the Ciclo Yoruba and the so called rumba complex with its traditional musical rhythms.

The organizers pointed out to Prensa Latina through the Internet that specially the yambú, guaguancó and columbia moved those present, who were unable to seat still in their seats and went to the corridors and the stage to dance with the rhythm.

They pointed out that Yoruba Andabo visited Belo Horizonte to offer several concerts, aiming to participate in the Second Yoruba Culture and in the Religion International Congress, which was attended by more than six thousand delegates from different countries.

In the celebration of the National Day of Cuban Rebellion, Yoruba Andabo was presented in the Cultural Center of the Federal University from Minas Gerais together with other Brazilian groups such as the company Primitiva da Danca Negra, Maestro Pepe, Mestre Conga, Roda de Capoeira de Acesa.

The current company had its origin in the syndicate artistic group Guaguancó Marítimo Portuario, created in 1961 in the Puerto de La Habana and which in the 1980´s of last century began their professional presentation as Yoruba Andabo.

Since then, the group has held concerts in Canada, the United Status, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, France and the United Kingdom and they have recorded more than twenty albums. In 1992, the CD El callejón de los rumberos, won the Juno award in Canada, which is equivalent to the US Grammy Award.

In 2001, Yoruba Andabo conquered a shared Grammy with nominations such as the Spain Music Academy (2006) and the Latin Grammy (2003 and 2006).
