Another choral group from the United States, the New Amsterdam Singers, will be in Cuba this Fourth of July weekend, the Agramonte radio network reported Thursday.

The schedule of the New York City-based group includes concerts in Matanzas and Havana.

The 200-voice Yale Alumni Chorus is already on the island. It sang Wednesday in Matanzas and will perform Saturday at the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Havana.

On Sunday, it will appear in an Independence Day concert at the capital's Lázaro Peña Theater, sharing the stage with the National Children's Chorus.

The New Amsterdam Singers are, according to their website, "70 skilled singers whose concert performances in New York City and abroad have won critical acclaim.

The group is known for the variety and interest of its repertoire, ranging from the 15th Century to the present day. The chorus specializes in a cappella and double chorus repertoire and regularly performs 20th-Century, contemporary and commissioned works."
