Havana, (Prensa Latina).- About 10,000 Cuban students are currently interested in entering Teachers Training Schools at the 2010-2011 school year beginning in September, said authorities from this sector.

That initiative will benefit 9th grade graduates, who will reach the bachelor's degree in the next four years.

We will train elementary school teachers who will neither give classes for only a period of time nor for a commitment, but for remaining as teachers, with a selective nature and good marks, said the Vice President of the Council of Ministers Jose Ramon Fernandez.

The students, added Fernandez, will have at least two years of training, and then three, before standing in front of a classroom in which they will have to gain recognition every day with their behaviour and knowledge.

The Vice Minister said that the Cuban teacher, in all the stages, has responded to challenges and requests of the Cuban people.
