Chinese authorities say a series of strong earthquakes struck western Qinghai (CHING'-hye) province Wednesday, killing at least 67 people.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 6.9 quake struck an area near Tibet. Officials and state media say the tremors toppled houses and buried many people.
