Carlos Varela
After 12 years without performing in Miami, the Cuban singer songwriter Carlos Varela will travel there in May to offer a concert at the Gusman Center for The Performing Arts.

"I havent sang in Miami since 1998. It will be a reunion with a generation that has spread my songs. And as it usually happens, it will be a very emotional evening full of nostalgia", said Varela from Havana.

Varela, of 46 years old, was known in the early 80's as one of the most promising exponents of the so-called "novisima trova", a promotion of youths' values that represented the continuity of the Nueva Trova Movement led by Silvio Rodriguez and Pablo Milanes.

"The difference of this visit with regards to my previous presentations is that this time I will play with my band of six wonderful musicians and my technical staff, just like we do on the tours we give around the world", he announced.

Varela comes to promote his 9th album, No es el fin (It's not the End) where he includes songs that he has been composing for the last three years. But he will also sing tracks of remembrance like Guillermo Tell, a song that in its time drove crowds.
