Cuba has recorded its most prominent performance in world indoor athletics championships when it ranked third by points in Doha 2010, preceded only by the U.S. and Russia delegations.

Dayron Robles was gold medal in the 60 meter hurdles. One gold, three silvers, one bronze and fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth places allowed the island to accumulate 47 units and to move Ethiopia down in the standings, despite the African country winning three gold medals, only surpassed by the United States (8).

The Cuban delegation shone, despite being made up of only 13 athletes, according to international experts, which were based on the performance of Dayron Robles in the 60 meter hurdles (gold) and record for the indoor championships, and on the silver medals achieved by triple jumpers Yargelis Savigne and Yoandry Betanzos and 400 meters William Collazo, added to the bronze David Giralt won in the triple jump competition.
