Female relatives of The Five anti-terrorist Cuban fighters held in US prisons received a special tribute in Egypt and Lebanon on Monday, as Cubans and activists in solidarity with the Island marked International Women''s Day.

Cuban diplomats, workers and residents in Egypt devoted moving expressions to the mothers, wives and daughters of Fernando Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labanino and Antonio Guerrero, honoured as heroes in Cuba.

Cuban Ambassador to Cairo Otto Vaillant said that permanent loyalty to the Cuban Revolution at work or in any other field is the best way to extol the fortitude and determination of the relatives, especially the wives of The Five.

Meanwhile, in Lebanon, the Free The Five solidarity committee made "again a call to all women worldwide to join our demand for the United States to respect the right of Olga Salanueva and Adriana Perez to visit their husbands Rene and Gerardo in prison," said the committee, while deploring the US continuous denial of entry visas to them.

"In this very special day, our message is of solidarity, sympathy, affection and support to all female relatives of The Five," stresses the message.
